Welcome to MS4W v3.0.6, the MapServer package for Windows, developed by Gateway Geomatics. MS4W is designed to get you up and running with MapServer with very little configuration.

There are some important notes about MS4W:

• Since it is not a true installer, it will not install to any location. It *** MUST *** be installed at the root of one of the drives on your system (e.g. C:/ or D:/).
• Pre-configured addon packages for MS4W can be downloaded from the MS4W Downloads page.
• The MS4W addon packages must be extracted at the same root as the base installer, and files must be overwritten.

GATE IO GUIDE

MS4W contains default installations of Apache, PHP, MapServ, MapScript and some sample applications. It is structured in such a way as to allow upgrading individual components without affecting the install. The base installer package comes pre-configured with the following software:

• Apache 2.2.22 (with OpenSSL 0.9.8t)
• PHP 5.4.3
• GDAL 1.9.1
• MapServer CGI 6.0.3 at /cgi-bin/mapserv.exe
